MEET THE TEAM

Stu Packard - Company Director

I have over 25 solid years’ experience in the concrete industry and am passionate about all aspects of the concrete industry. I pride myself on being actively involved with the oversight, continued growth and development of the business. My enjoyment comes from working alongside the team from the time of pouring through to the finishing of the job. I derive an immense amount of satisfaction in seeing a job well done and a satisfied client. “To my mind that is what successful businesses are "made of”.

I moved in to the building industry in the mid 70’s working for “Richmond Construction” where I successfully completed a building apprenticeship, giving me a valuable grounding in the building industry and skills which are still useful today. From here I went on to work for a concrete placer in Northland where my interest in the concrete industry grew until I decided to establish my own business in Auckland in 1989, before moving to Wanganui in 2012.

I encourage my staff to upskill and treat the concrete industry as a professional trade. I have furthered my own personal knowledge in recent years by gaining

a NZQA National Certificate in Concrete Construction for Placing & Finishing and becoming a Licensed Building Practitioner (in the Foundations area) and have completed Traffic Management, First Aid and Site Safe training.

Raewyn Saunders-Loder - Office Administrator

Raewyn has worked with Wanganui Concrete Contractors for the past 10 years bringing office and business skills to the business. Raewyn carries out all of the office administrative tasks and also has a very good understanding of our concrete business; she is able to measure and quote works when needed and holds Traffic Management qualifications.

Raewyn is also passionate about concrete and safety in the work place and is working towards the Site Safe Certificate in Construction Site Safety - having

already completed the Site Safe Building Construction Passport, Advanced Passport, Leadership in Safety and the Construction Management qualifications.

Andy Yarrall - Foreman

Andy moved back to Wanganui at the beginning of 2015 to join the team at Wanganui Concrete Contractors. Andy has had many years of experience in both the concrete industry (having worked for himself for a period of time) and in the roading and construction industry, having previously being the Operations Manager for a large Civil Contracting company.

Andy holds STMS level Traffic Management qualifications and is in the finishing stages of his Concrete Placing and Finishing qualification, and as with all staff holds a Site Safe passport. Andy enjoys passing his skills and knowledge on to those who are willing to learn the trade; he is a keen sporting and family man.

The Rest of the Team

A successful business is made up of a true team that can work together and depend on each other to produce the very best job that they are capable of.

We believe that we are lucky enough to have such a team, with a mix of young and old. Our team brings with them a varied mix of skills which would be

an asset to any company including carpentry, engineering and construction skills but most importantly they have the right attitude and work ethics.

We are keen to encourage our team to improve themselves and upskill at any opportunity that they can - our staff all attend Site Safe courses relevant to the industry that we work in and staff also attend First Aid courses. We have staff members working towards the NZQA qualifications in Placing & Finishing Concrete and attend courses and seminars that are relevant to our work. The nature of our work sometimes means that we often have to start early and work late in to the night - we are fortunate in that we have staff who are flexible enough with their time to enable us to meet the needs of our increasing number of customers.

Every member of our team is important to us and a crucial part in getting the job done! With the ever changing work force and work load, we are always

open to taking on new staff, with the skills and knowledge that we require - please feel free to contact us if the concrete industry could be interesting to you.
