"We would like to say how very impressed that we are with the concreting that Mr. Stu Packard of Wanganui Concrete Services did with our driveway.

When we asked Stu to give us a quote he was very thorough and concise with every aspect of the preparation right through to the end of the pouring of the concrete. His staff were very polite whenever we spoke to them while they were on our site. If the finish, colour and fall are done correctly, as Stu has done, then you will have the pleasure of your new driveway for many years. Wanganui Concrete Services removed the old driveway, backfilled with sand, leveled and shaped as required with no fuss.  They did no damage to storm water drains, which were not very deep in the ground, not to mention the house and fencing.

 

They placed the concrete, finished and cut all in a very tradesman like manner. Also they took the appropriate safety precautions with signage and barrier tape where needed.  If we are approached by anyone as to who did the work we are always willing to give our opinion of Stu’s work and work safe ethics. “It was a treat to sit with someone who was able to think laterally, exchange ideas and come up with achievable results.

Changes were made to original concepts and suitable alternatives suggested. Concrete was not my area of expertise but I received the advice I needed to achieve wonderful results. Stu’s recommendation of a quality builder and suitable materials for the raised garden beds, proved to be just right. When it was time to start clearing the site, boxing up and pouring, I was kept fully informed of what and when things were to happen. The onsite foreman spoke to me at the start and end of each day, so I felt involved with the whole process. The Managing director visited almost daily. I was impressed by the team’s professional attitude and interest; attention to detail;  tidy work methods with rubbish removed regularly; ability to work constructively with other contractors on site (plumber and builder); consultation every step of the way. Results have far exceeded expectations.

“Wanganui Concrete Contractors were asked to build an extension to our concrete verandah at the back of our house. During the time the contracting men worked on the project we found them to be hardworking, very pleasant and cheerful. They were easy to have around. Where there were decision to be made

on site we were informed and things were explained clearly to us as we went. We found the process of concreting to be interesting and the men were skilful in creating the desired design. They worked tidily being mindful of keeping disruption to the surrounding garden and lawn to a minimum. We are very pleased with the final outcome of our concrete verandah. It appears like it has been there since the house was initially built. The scribed squares and neutral colour of the concrete is in perfect keeping with the original grouting colours and design of the house. It has turned out better than we anticipated.”   RR
